December 2006 Minutes

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hoffman, County of Clinton, and State of Illinois, held on Wednesday, December 13 2006, at 7:00 P.M.

Meeting called to order by President Guile. The following trustees answered roll call:

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the Village Clerk and approved as read.

Visitors recognized: There were no visitors.


The attached bills totaling $6,201.26 and $1,269.77 was presented for approval and payment. A motion was made by Nowak and seconded by McCoy to pay the bills presented. Motion carried with no opposition.

Committee Reports:

Finance/Economic Development – Nothing to report.

Health – Sandy thanked everyone for the flowers during her illness. President Guile had information regarding Medicare assistance. He will forward this information to the church. McCoy informed the members of information regarding fingerprinting and identification of children that can be put on a disc. President Guile will check with the sheriff’s office regarding this.

Ordinance/Zoning – nothing to report

Park/Beautification – nothing to report

Streets – McCoy stated he will request lights from Ameran IP.


Utilities – McCoy asked about two water leaks. Per President Guile, the leaks were repaired by Ron.

Amendments to the Agenda – None

President’s Updates & Comments – President Guile informed board members that he will check with Abernathy regarding the house on Broadway. Nowak asked about the ownership of the home on Route 161. President Guile stated that he found out who the owner is and the Village Attorney will contact the owner.

Clerk’s Updates and Comments – nothing to report.


Attorney’s Updates & Comments – nothing to report

Unfinished business:

Lift Station Bypass – tabled

Culvert at FS Elevator – President Guile stated that he will re-fax information to Jolaine Minor, Department of Economic Development for the DECA grant money.

Web Page – Nowak stated that Dusti had problems with Netwitz and that he called Netwitz and the problem is now resolved. Dusti needs pictures and information to put on the web page.

Bike Path Maintenance – Hohman stated that she hasn’t heard anything.

Maintenance of Basketball Courts – The lights have not been fixed yet due to truck issues with Tucker Electric.

Records Retention – tabled

New Business – there was no new business


Motion to adjourn by Travis, second by Nowak. Motion carried.
