Minutes of the special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hoffman, County of Clinton, and State of Illinois, held on Thursday, August 24, 2006, at 7:00 P.M. Meeting called to order by President Guile. The following trustees answered roll call:
Dave Bick of HMG and Ron Carpenter were present to meet with the board regarding the Lift Station Bypass. Before discussion on the Lift Station Bypass project, Mr. Bick reported that the water tower looks good. There will need to be some touch ups on the paint to cover paint chips. Lift Station Bypass – the Board was informed that the pump curves were not available for review.. A discussion was held regarding using a 4 inch line versus a 6 inch line. Alternatives for proposals discussed were using both pumps with two 4 inch lines. Mr. Bick informed the board of new laws on overflow guidelines. The board discussed looking at getting a grant to replace the whole system. It was decided to go with the overflow change and pursue a grant for replacing the whole system. Hugo will provide information to Mr. Bick for HMG to submit for the grant. A motion was made by Abernathy and seconded by McCoy for HMG to submit for an EPA permit for the overflow change. Roll Call vote: Abernathy – yes; Hohman – yes; McCoy – yes; Nowak – yes; Travis – yes. Motion carried with no opposition. A motion was made by Abernathy and seconded by Hohman for the Village to pursue a grant for complete new lift station and related sewer lines and lagoon work. Roll Call vote: Abernathy – yes; Hohman – yes; McCoy – yes; Nowak – yes; Travis – yes. Motion carried with no opposition. Motion to adjourn by Travis, second by Abernathy.
